Large Tree/Tree Removal: Large tree removal with a crane is our specialty. We are the tree company that other tree companies call for the removal of big trees such as red oaks, white oaks and tulip poplars. We go above and beyond your expectations! We also do normal tree removal as well.

Stump Removal: Family Tree Experts can remove any size stump that you have. This can be done after a tree removal job or at a later date. Customers are free to keep the remaining mulch from the stump or we will remove the excess mulch. We can make your yard look like as if there was never a tree there before. We guarantee that you will have grass growing where your stump once was.

Tree Pruning: Family Tree Experts specializes in many types of pruning for your trees. May it be that you need dead limbs removed from a tree or a tree that needs to be thinned out or the branches elevated in order for your grass underneath to receive light in order to grow. We can also prune your trees back from your house or any structure you want so your tree doesn't interfere.

We also do crown reductions, which is the reducing of the canopy of the tree. However, there are only certain types that you should do that to. Pruning your tree is a great way to keep your trees standing tall, strong, and healthy. If you are unsure if a tree pruning is needed our estimators are willing to help you along this process.

Snow Removal: Family Tree Experts originated first in New York and in Ohio, so large accumulations of snow is nothing new for us. We have many large snow plow trucks that have helped keep our highways, larger parking lots, and more clear and safe. Family Tree Experts also helps customers in residential areas with our smaller snow plows if people need help getting out their drive way or anything of the sort.

Firewood: Being a large tree removal company we have plenty of firewood for sale for those colder seasons. Family Tree Experts actually owns their own firewood processor that uses all the trees we remove over the year and cuts them into firewood for the colder seasons.We generate a very large amount of firewood each year which is donated to either churches, Boy scouts of America, and families in need and need heat. Fertilization and Aeration: Fertilization and Aeration is probably one of the most important things that Family Tree Experts can do in order for you to keep your trees healthy and alive. Northern Virginia faces many problems dealing with this because the good majority of the ground is clay. Over the last 6 years we have experienced droughts from July to August. This makes the clay become rock hard and can only be treated through penetrating this hard layer. This clay needs to be penetrated so that when it rains the water can actually go into the root system and not just run off. This process is done by deep root injections or by drilling holes. Deep root injecting also promotes new root growth, in which there is no new root growth in hard compacted clay where root compaction occurs. Simply, what we are doing is loosing the ground up in order for new roots to grow and that you can have a healthy tree. The number one tree that falls under this problem are the large red oak trees. If you have large red oak trees on your property you should have it checked out because they are the number one dying tree due to root compaction.
